My JZX100 Toyota Chaser

The Chaser has landed in U.S.

A few months after Japan auction, the JZX100 has finally cleared all necessary customs and registration requirements in the States. With all of that happening in Florida, the car will be taking a transport truck ride up to North Dakota early December.

So, why the Toyota Chaser?

Like many, my introduction to cars started with The Fast and the Furious movie in 2001. At that time I wasn’t even old enough to drive yet, but with my natural interest in art and creativity and seeing all of the customization and personalization within the import scene, I was hooked instantly.

My first car was a 1988 Chevrolet Beretta. It was freshly repainted, had a 5-speed manual, and a V-6. Before I had passed my drivers test, I had spent the money I had earned from washing dishes at a local restaurant since fourteen on wheels, stereo, lights, and exhaust for the Beretta.

Since, I have had a number of different project cars- Mazda MX6 GT, Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX, Toyota Corolla S, Subaru WRX Wagon, Toyota 86, and now the JZX100 Chaser.

With each car, I went through the same process of studying the lines, looking at others’ for inspiration, researching oem and aftermarket parts, formulating my ideal design, and mapping out what it would take to turn the project into what I felt it should have been from factory. Always a clean, subtle, enhanced version.

What are my plans for the Chaser?

I’m in this one for the long haul. Finding the rare color low milage one-owner chassis with S1 Tourer interior took patience, and with that I intend to be patient with proper, mature enhancements to build my ultimate sports sedan.
