About
Tuners Canvas

A passion of art and cars.
Growing up, I naturally gravitated to art and creativity. I took all the art related classes I could throughout school and found a passion and respect for those I met who embraced artistic talents. For some reason, the ability to modify and customize cars became very interesting to me and I began to use an artistic approach to every vehicle I came across.

Our
History

2001

Like many, cars for me started with The Fast and the Furious movie and the Need for Speed: Underground game. I would spend hours playing Need for Speed- Underground, but it wasn't to race. I couldn't begin to say how many times I would select a vehicle and modify the wheels, colors, aero, and graphics to almost 'paint' a vision as if the vehicle was a canvas.

2005

As I got older, all of my time was spent online looking at and researching parts to build my dream car at the time, the second gen Eclipse GSX. I would look at project builds and take notes to parts or ideas that I liked, creating wish lists. Not only visually, but mechanically as well. I can remember requesting free product catalogs from performance vendors like Jegs and Summit Racing, and then highlight everything in the catalog that I wanted to fully build the engine. Everything from rods and pistons to fuel pumps, spark plugs, and pulleys. I was obsessed.

2014

Fast forward a number of years, and a few first projects, I acknowledged a demand and began tinting windows in my hometown of Winona, MN 55987 in 2014. Not having a local tint shop in the area forced me, and everyone else in town, to travel 40 or 60 minutes to neighboring cities in order to receive automotive window tinting. To avoid the hassle of arranging travel for tint services I took it upon myself to learn the craft. Slowly but surely word of mouth spread throughout town and before I knew it, there was a steady stream of text messages and voice mails requesting a quote for window tint.

2017

Momentum started to build, booking out weekends in advance to fit in window tint requests as this was only a side hobby of course. It was quite rewarding to have such a following without any real form of advertising or branding. This continued until the middle of 2017 when I moved away from Winona to seek new opportunities in Dickinson, ND 58601. As a result, window tinting significantly stalled as I found myself in a new area with no garage and no connections.

2023

Today, I've not only been able to continue growing connections and relationships within the Winona area with tint service during frequent return visits, but also estalish a wealth of new connections in the Dickinson area. It's definitely exciting to look back at where I've progressed with window tinting over the years, while also expanding into headlight / taillight tinting, lens restorations, paint protection film, vinyl decals, and even full vinyl wrap.
