Back in high school, I played with window tinting on a few occasions and quickly realized how hard it was to lay flat film on a curved glass.  I didn't mess with it a whole lot at that time but always had an interest in mastering the craft.
Years later, around 2013-2014, I started to think more seriously about it when I discovered there really wasn't anyone window tinting in the Winona, MN area.  So, I ordered a roll of film, purchased installation tools, and began watching as many YouTube videos as I could find to see what the trick was to laying the tint down smooth.
Today, window tinting has become a side gig that continues to grow as word of mouth keeps spreading.  Its crazy to look back at how many cars I've done and the improvements I've made in confidence, speed, and quality.

Drying Period
Your new window tint will take roughly 3-5 days to fully cure during the summer and possibly 7-10 days in the winter.  During this curing time, please refrain from rolling down the tinted windows.  It is common to experience a hazy appearance until the moisture used to install the window tint has fully evaporated and is dry.  This is most noticeable in rear windows.
Cleaning
Be careful not to clean your tinted windows until after the full drying period as movement or bunching is possible.  Window tint is installed on the inside of the glass so normal exterior car washing is fine anytime after the tint has been installed.  When cleaning the inside tinted window, do not use any glass cleaner that contains ammonia.  Confirm your cleaner specifies that it is Tint Safe or Ammonia Free and wipe with a soft microfiber towel.
Imperfections
Even with a conscious effort to achieve the best window tint installation possible, due to the nature of the product, there is typically some degree of dust and contamination that makes its way into the window tint.  Before each installation, a prep clean routine takes place to mitigate as much of the debris as possible, however we find that contamination manages to find a way into the tinted windows.  On a side note, any pre-existing flaws or scratches in the glass are likely going to be much more noticeable after the window tinting is complete.
