Much like my interest in window tint, which I've been installing now for a number of years, working with vinyl was something I knew I wanted to try. Looking into it more, I discovered that the technology found in many high end wrap vinyls can also be found in some transparent films geared towards tinting taillight and headlight lenses.

Luxe LightWrap Series
Image
LightWrap™ Smoke Series vinyl is available in both a high gloss paint like appearance as well as a crisp satin Stealth sheen. The translucent tinting wrap vinyl was specifically created for use on taillights, headlights, marker lights, and chrome.  It's safe on cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, and just about any other clear plastic.
LightWrap™ features air release technology for an incredibly easy dry application installation, and when it is warmed with a heat-gun it becomes pliable enough to stretch around very complex compound curves that are common on light lenses of most vehicles.
LightWrap™ has a durability rating up to 10 years and removable up to 3 years.

After the tint has been installed on your lights, there really isn't much to be concerned about. You may car wash as normal a day or two after install. The material is specifically designed to handle the elements though keep in mind it is a layer of film over the light housing, scratches and scrapes from outside impact can damage the material.
